OK, so one hiatus led to another, and out the other end we pop up. This time in Newport, Shropshire (you have to specify the county as there are SO many “Newport”s). Just starting to get our collective feet on the ground – new schools, new jobs, new location etc. Getting our head round the fact that Birmingham is our new nearest BIG city and how close things are that used to be a long way away. Of course the flip of that is that the places that we were used to being close to are now a long way away! One notable feature, as an example, is the sea. Our last place, in Worthing, was literally a 1 minute walk from the sea. We’re now contending with a 2 and a half hour trip to dip our toes.

The dust is nearly settling on all the jobs we need to carry out on the new house – then it’s on to discovering more about our new habitat.
